Link Coworking

About Us

Link Coworking came about in a way that many businesses do—a need arose in the market and no one was meeting that need. Liz Elam spent 14 years working for Dell inc, and managed a highly successful and profitable multi-million dollar business from her home office. She often found herself jockeying for cord position at Starbucks, speaking in hushed tones and looking over her shoulder. If not at a coffee shop she was renting expensive meeting space or working in relative isolation in her home. She had a need for a professional, welcoming space that provided meeting rooms, connectivity and most importantly, human interaction. Coworking is the term that caught on to describe these new innovative spaces.

Initially, working from home sounds really liberating and convenient...until it's not. After working from home for the last 12 years, I hit the wall. Link was an oasis in the desert. Really. Instead of feeling either isolated from the rest of the world or a homeless person with a laptop bouncing from coffee shop to coffee shop, I now have a real place to work. Link is clean, convenient, and well stocked with bright, smart people doing really interesting things. Come in, power up, sit where you want, and get stuff done. Parking is plentiful, restaurants (10) are walking distance away, and the coffee is free. If you've had enough of your cat sitting on your keyboard, noisy coffee shops, and working in your pj's all day, you need to Link. I highly and completely recommend Link.

I am a consultant and an entrepreneur and had been working out of my home office for 5 years. I came to Link Coworking because I wanted to test having a workplace outside the home and to discover the value of being in a shared space with other professionals in Austin. What I found was a inviting space, in an accessible area, and filled with fantastic friends you haven't met yet. Liz Elam, the founder, is wonderful and works hard to create an attractive community and she strives to connect her members with shared passions. Members really feel like they are part of something. I highly recommend Link Coworking and am excited to hear they have expanded. They are the best Coworking space in Austin. Don't beleive me, come check it out.

I have not only spent some time working at Link, but I have planned events at Link and there is truly no other space like it in Austin. First of all, it's pretty and it's comfortable to work in. No matter how you like to work (on a couch, at a desk, in a chair) there is a space that you can really get comfortable in. The atmosphere is the perfect balance of work and fun. Working at home can be distracting and boring; Link gives you plenty of space to work quietly when you need to, but is also great when you need a coffee break to step away and chat with people. And that's the other great thing about Link - THE PEOPLE! There is a wide range of professionals at Link that can help ease your writer's block, collaborate on finding a solution to a problem, or just talk about last night's episode of Project Runway. As if that's not enough of a reason to check it out, the curator Liz works double-time to bring in great speakers and cool events to help members in every aspect of their business. If you are looking for a place to work that is not your home or a coffee shop, definitely check out Link.

Having worked at Link for several months now, I cannot imagine going back to working from home. The space is kept very clean and professional. Coffee, filtered water and other beverages, along with healthy and unhealthy snacks, are readily available. To keep things interesting, the furniture is often rearranged and sprinkled with quirky decor (my favorite is a small T-Rex whose back is recessed and doubles as a pot for a real cactus). Fun and inspiring quotes written on small objects can be found in unexpected places. This attention to detail alone sets Link's space apart from others. However, it's the community of extraordinarily friendly, smart, and eager-to-help members that makes Link a true coworking space at which working is a pleasure.

Link has literally changed my life! I was working at home after moving back to Austin and I felt really isolated. It was hard to make meaningful connections at the occasional association luncheon. Since joining Link, my connections have grown and, as a result, so has my business. I've received work from other members or their contacts that has more than paid for the cost of membership! I take advantage of the many businesses near Link - gym, daycare, restaurants, chiropractor... I don't have to drive all over town. I can't say enough great things about how significant Link has become to my work and personal life.
